My research has two foci. For many years I have studied the intersection of art and literature in the context of medieval oral culture and often with regards to domestic objects. Lately I have turned my attention to the role of images, especially courtly ones, in medieval devotional manuscripts.
My background is in computer science and filmmaking, with credits in many science documentary films. My visualization research tasks include reading, processing, and designing 3D numerical scientific simulations for non-expert audiences in immersive theaters.
